ORGANIZATIONS

PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL - Oversees and facilitates parish activities. The Board has representatives from all the parish organizations and four at-large area representatives.
BEREAVEMENT COMMITTEE - Provides receptions to families and guests after a funeral. Help is needed in two ways: those who can serve at the reception, and those who can donate cooked or baked items on short notice.
SCOUTING - Organizations that provide a wide range of activities within the Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. Our Parish sponsors Boy Scout Troop 1365 and Cub Pack 136.
CATHOLIC WOMEN'S COUNCIL - The CWC unites parish women for action on projects which interest them in religious, educational, moral, economic and service fields.
SEWING CLUB -Make Baptismal and RCIA Stoles.
CATHOLIC YOUTH MINISTRY (CYM) - Helps develop Catholic ideals through religious, social, civic, and athletic activities for High School Youths. Meets each Sunday at 6:30 PM, in the Parish Center. The Youth Group assists at 5:30 PM Sunday Mass with a choir, altar servers, ushers, lectors, and commentators.
FINANCE COMMISSION - Conducts an ongoing independent review of parish income and expenses and reports to the Parish Pastoral Council.
LEGION OF MARY- A world-wide organization of Catholics who offer their services to their pastor in performing works of evangelization in the parish. Adult groups meet Friday to 10:00 AM in the Legion Room. Junior Legion meets Friday at 5:30 PM and Saturday at 10:00 AM in the Legion Room.

LITURGICAL COMMITTEES


ASSOCIATION OF ACOLYTES & ALTAR SERVERS - Catholic youth who enrich our liturgy and enjoy each other's company. The association accepts boys who have made their First Communion through High School.
CHOIR - OLA SINGERS AND INSTRUMENTALISTS - Adults and teens leading the congregation in contemporary and classical hymns at 5:30 PM Saturday, 8:30 AM, 10:00 AM & 11:30 AM Sunday Masses.
LAY EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS - Appointed by the Pastor and commissioned by the Diocese, Lay Eucharistic Ministers assist in distributing Holy Communion at Mass, and bring the Eucharistic on Sundays to shut-ins.
LECTORS - Responsible for proclaiming God's Word at Mass. Lectors meet semi-annually, when called.
MINISTERS OF HOSPITALITY (USHERS) - Responsible for an orderly and reverent liturgical assembly. More needed; men, women or teens.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION - Provides instruction in Catholic doctrine for children attending public elementary and high school, adult Catholics seeking to advance their knowledge of the faith, and non-Catholics wishing to become members of the faith.
K THRU 8 - Providing the formal religious education and formation in the parish for children and teens through high school, and sacrament preparation programs for parents of children receiving First Penance, First Eucharist and Confirmation.
CHILDREN'S CATECHUMENATE - Program of preparation and instruction for children in grades 4 thru 12 who have not received formal religious instruction or sacraments.

Times of Religious Education Sessions for this Fall
Starting in September, the catechists will meet with the children for religious instruction at the following times:
K-6 Sundays, 4:00 - 5:15 PM
CYM Sundays, 6:30 - 9:00 PM
Teen Initiation Sundays, 6:30 - 9:00 PM
K-6 Tuesdays, 4:45 - 6:00 PM
K-8 Tuesdays, 7:00 - 8:15 PM

ADULT SCRIPTURE STUDIES - Beginning in September and January every year, these studies are held on Monday and Thursday evenings.
RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (RCIA) - Program of instruction for inquirers into the Catholic Faith. Beginning in late September and continuing through Easter - also open to Catholics who want to learn more about their faith
MOTHER'S GROUP - A monthly meeting with a priest to discuss church teachings, and also a weekly prayer group.
RESERVATION OF FACILITIES AT OLA - Auditorium, with or without kitchen; Conference Room, with or without kitchen. Call the rectory (703) 494-2444.
PRO-LIFE COUNCIL - Provides education and information about pro-life issues. Encouraging activities which foster respect for life.
NURSERY- Provides babysitting at the 10:00 AM Sunday Mass.
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY - Gives assistance to the needy, sick, infirm, and the elderly. Always in need of donations and volunteers.
PERPETUAL EUCHARISTIC ADORATION - Always open twenty four hours a day seven days a week. Spend one hour each week with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel.


SENIOR PARISHIONERS - Senior Adults in the parish who meet together to enjoy afternoons and plan programs, meeting on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at 11:30 AM in the Conference Room.
VIDEO LIBRARY - Videos are available to parish families after all weekend Masses.
VOCATION COMMITTEE - The Committee works to foster vocations to service in the Church. Meeting when called.

ORGANIZATIONS ASSOCIATED WITH OUR PARISH


AQUINAS SCHOOL - A regional Catholic elementary school from Pre-K through eighth grade, serving families and children of Our Lady of Angels, Sacred Heart and Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton parishes.
OUR LADY'S BLUE ARMY - Promoting devotion to Our Lady through the Rosary.
ANCIENT ORDER OF HIBERNIANS - A fraternal organization of Catholics of Irish birth/descent, sponsoring social and cultural programs. The LtCol John Dowd Division, AOH, meets at OLA on the second Sunday of each month at 7:00 PM.
K of C Emblem KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS & LADIES AUXILIARY - A Catholic, family, fraternal, service organization in support of the Parish, the community, and the council. The Father Edwin F. Kelley Council, which serves our Parish, is involved in many religious and social Parish activities, including transportation to Mass, and meets on the first and third Monday of each month. An active Ladies Auxiliary assists the Council.
